Next Week in St Mary's and Potton Remembers

The only service at St Mary’s Church next Sunday will be Holy Communion at 9am with Rdr Simon Gutteridge. Services and activities for the rest of the day will follow the Remembrance Day programme organised and well publicised by Potton Town Council, starting with a service on the Market Square at 10.15am. There is a free concert at 3pm in St Mary’s. “Anthems for Doomed Youth” By Douglas Coombes MBE, will be performed by the Amici Singers and The Ensemble of Friends. There will be a retiring collection for the charity “Help for Heroes” O Friday, November 9, Nick Wilson will be on BigglesFM at 8.15am with his Thought for the Day. Find him at 104.8 on the dial. Our First Steps toddler and baby group meet that day as usual in the church hall at 9.30am. Details about the Group can be obtained from Group Organiser, Sandy, on 01767 260430. Our popular Craft and Chatter group will meet next Friday evening, November 16 as usual at 7.30pm, at the Rising Sun. Details from 01767 260792. Any craft and as much chatter as you want for £2.50 which includes refreshments! Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Cockayne Hatley Church on Monday, Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. All are welcome. Services for Sunday November 11: 9am Holy Communion (Said) 10.30am Ecumenical Service and Remembrance Day Parade in the Market Square with walk to the War memorial in the Cemetery for the Act of Remembrance 3pm Free concert in St Mary’s commemorating the end of World War One, in aid of Help for Heroes See Potton Town Council programme for other events.
