Good News for the coming weeks
Sunday’s Morning Service in St Mary’s Church was very well attended, possibly because many were back from their holidays but we had a guest speaker with us who we were all interested to listen to. The service of Holy Communion was as usual conducted by the Rector, the Rev Alex Wheatley but the guest speaker was the Rev Jill Wheatley, Rev Alex’s Mother. The Rev Jill spoke of her work as the Chaplain at Hollins Park Hospital in Warrington and her involvement with mental illness

A regular Sunday, with a bit of a sizzle!
We welcomed more people this week to our Sunday Morning Service congregation, to hear the Rev Alex Wheatley, our Rector, conduct the service of Holy Communion. The Rev Alex will also conduct the Morning Service next Sunday. After the service, we held a social gathering of a “Sausage Sizzle” on the church field, with quite a good turnout in spite of the dampish weather and overcast sky. We got our forks and plates ready for Hot Dogs and a salad selection which were available a

St Mary's Festival next week, and we have a Sausage Sizzler!

Next Sunday, the Rev Alex will conduct 2 services of Holy Communion at St Mary’s, at 8am and the main service as usual

The Choir at St Mary's will be returning in September
We welcomed back our Rector, the Rev Alex Wheatley on Sunday after his recent spell of ill health, which we are pleased to report, he is now over. Rev Alex conducted the Morning Service of Holy Communion to a fairly large congregation, introducing more music from recordings into the service. This will be in preparation for a small church choir who will start singing at a limited number of services in September. Hopefully this will build up to a full choir at most services as

Welcome back to Rev Alex
Reverend Alex Wheatley The Morning Service last Sunday, Service of the Word, a service that follows the style of Holy Communion, but without the Communion! This is a service where a fully ordained priest is not present to conduct the service, therefore Holy Communion cannot be given to the congregation. Our service on Sunday was conducted by Rdr Simon Gutteridge who ably led the service with an interesting sermon, and some reflective recorded music instead of the congregation
