Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. The Sunday Services at St Mary's in the coming months
The service last Sunday Morning was the shorter Holy Communion led by a visiting Retired Priest, the Rev Margaret Marshall from St Neots. As there were no children present for this service, being the start of the school holidays, the treasure Boxes were not used. The Rev Margaret was not familiar with that type of service so not having to wonder about the “Treasures” in the box probably came as some relief. Gill's Farewell Buffet and Barbecue Lunch
After the morning service, there followed a Buffet and Barbeque held at the Scouts Hall, where about 200 people came along to eat, drink and chat sociably with Gill and Bob and to say their personal thanks and farewells. We were entertained by a lovely choir from Potton Lower School.

The Rev Gill's Farewell Service with Bishop Richard of Bedford
The Sunday Morning service was introduced by Bishop Richard of Bedford with the words “This is a Bitter Sweet occasion”. The Bishop was of course telling everyone that this was to be the farewell service to the Rev Gill Smith as she and husband Bob, retire and move away from Potton to their chosen retirement home in rural Norfolk. Final Friends and Family Service for the Rev Gill
This morning, July 7th 2019, the Rev Gill Smith gave her final Friends and Family service before she leaves us on retirement. The theme today was "Go on your way", a theme chosen to help Gill and husband Bob, a safe and happy journey into their new life in Norfolk.
