May Day Fete, Papworth Charity Stall
On May Day, May 6th, Paula Evetts who had a successful heart transplant at the Royal Papworth Hospital just over 3 years ago, will once again be running her giant Tombola stall in aid of the Royal Papworth charity. This will be the fourth stall Paula has run and so far over the last 3 years, she has raised nearly £3000. The first time she did this was literally 6 weeks after her major surgery, she was so determined to give something back to the hospital that saved her life. H

The week in St Mary's Church
The service last Sunday morning was Holy Communion by Extension. This is a strange title but what it means is that there is no ordained Priest available to conduct the service, but the wine and bread for the Act of Communion, had been blessed already by our ordained Rector. Last Sunday, one of our Readers, Simon Gutteridge, ably conducted the service on behalf of the Rev Gill Smith who was not available on this occasion. The Salvation Army in World War One
Potton Salvation Army, are pleased to announce a presentation by John Stanyard of Kettering, on Sunday May 12th at 3pm in their Hall. The presentation is entitled "Under Two Flags" The story of the Salvation Army in World War One. All are invited to come along to hear a fascinating story of their work on those dreadful battlefields of one of Histories' worst Wars.

Potton Parish Lunch
Friday, April 26, at 12.45pm, in St Mary’s Hall, the St John’s Hospice Moggerhanger, Potton Support Group, sponsored by St Mary’s Church, are holding their monthly Parish Lunch. There should be places available so why not come along and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal from a menu which offers 5 choices and a dessert for only £7. Holy Week at St Mary's Church
It has been a joyous week at St Mary’s with the Holy Week services every day. Maundy Thursday evening service was Holy Communion followed by a Passover Supper, just as Jesus would have held for 11 of his Disciples. Good Friday morning was the Potton Churches Together Walk of Witness, the re-enactment of Jesus’ walk on the way to Calvary and his death on the Cross.
