Last month we presented the Hospice with the proceeds of the lunches held in 2019, a tidy sum of £4300. We hope to equal that sum this year so why not come and join us and help us achieve that aim? The lunch is a two course meal and a hot drink for just £8.(sorry we have had to increase the price a little this year) We have table vacancies so no need to book! If anyone would like to join us for a delicious home cooked two course meal, you will be made very welcome. We hold a raffle, prize donations always we

This week in our Benefice

The Morning Service last Sunday was Holy Communion with the Rev Ray Porter from Gamlingay. There may be light at the end of our recruitment tunnel. The interviews for the new incumbent are being set up and will be conducted very soon but this still does not mean we are only weeks away from filling the post but at least once the selection has been made, we will know that it will happen probably during the summer months, so watch this space for more news. Meanwhile of course, we are extremely grateful for the help we have been given by the retired priest community. The service next Sunday morning will be our ever popular Friends and Family activity service with the theme of Lent. In the eveni

The concerns around Coronavirus and Winter ‘Flu

We have been asked to bring this notice to your attention, especially if you take Holy Communion: The concerns around Coronavirus and Winter ‘Flu are good reasons to remind parishes and communicants about good hygiene practice and the chalice. The administration of Holy Communion has, for centuries, been considered hygienic and is of course a means of grace and healing. It is wise to follow best practice more recently laid down at times of winter flu and with the current concerns surrounding Coronavirus. These arrangements are being kept under active review at this time. Wash Hands. Priests presiding at the Eucharist, communion administrators and servers are reminded to wash hands. We strong

This week in our Benefice

I must start this week’s column by apologising for a big gap since the last time I wrote one. Unfortunately, I had a spell in hospital, unexpectedly, so I was unable to bring the Church news to you, for the last three weeks. I’m on the mend, but still some more tests to be run I understand! The Morning Service on Sunday was Choral Holy Communion with the Rev Canon Lyndsay Dew, once more standing in because of the vacancy for a new Incumbent. Things must be moving on with the vacancy and the application stage is over meaning that the next stage is the interviews. There’s still a long way to go though! The Morning Service next Sunday will be the Shorter Format Holy Communion with the Rev Marga
