Craft and Chatter Group, St Mary's Church, Potton, dates for 2020

Did you know that St Mary's Church has a Craft and Chatter group? They meet every other Friday in St Mary's Hall, Hatley Road, Potton, SG19 2RP. The object of the Group, is to bring people together who enjoy craft work of any type, and who would like to compare notes with others, learn new ideas and make new friends whilst enjoying some home made cake and a hot drink. Of course while all this is going on, there's plenty of time for Chatter as well!. The group is not restricted to Potton people only and we have already attracted members from other communities. The evening costs just £2.50 and includes the refreshments. It would be good to see some new faces coming to join us, so why not give

The service will conducted by the Rev Canon Lindsay Dew, our former Rural Dean, now retired. There will be no other services in the Benefice that day except for Morning Prayer at St Mary’s, at 9am. Our First Steps toddler and baby group will be meeting on Friday in the church hall at the usual

This week in St Mary's

Last Sunday, the Morning Service was conducted by a local retired Priest the Rev Judi Clarke, leading our monthly Choral Holy Communion Service. In her sermon, the Rev Judi, as it was the first Sunday of Epiphany, talked of it’s origins and the meaning of it in today’s church. In the current run of morning services while we don’t have an incumbent at St Mary’s, this was the Rev Judi’s first service with us, we hope we made her welcome. The vacant position of the Rector is now being advertised and it is hoped in the coming weeks, a new incumbent is found. It is quite a slow process though so it could still be sometime before a new Rector actually starts their new life with us. The Morning Ser

This is the full report sent to this weeks Chronicle which will be published in the Villages Column next Friday: We are back after a 3 week break over the Christmas period but what a busy few weeks we had in the Benefice even though we do not have a Rector at this time.
