Services for Sunday April 7: 9am Benefice Holy Communion (Said, with hymns) at Sutton Church 10.30am Friends and Family with Morning Prayer 6.30pm Deanery Lent Evensong at St John the Baptist Church, Cockayne Hatley. The service next Sunday at St Mary's church is the ever popular Friends and Family all age activity service and Morning Prayer with LLW Paulet. All are welcome. Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. Mothering Sunday Report

The morning service last Sunday was the shorter format Holy Communion with a real flavouring towards Mothering Sunday. The Rev Gill Smith in her address, told of the role of Mothers since time began, citing the stories of famous Biblical Mothers as examples. Posies of flowers were then presented by the children present, to all of the Mothers present, but even to those whose mothers were no longer with us, in remembrance. The musical accompaniment to the service was provided by the Wilson family, Nick, (flute), Dolly, (clarinet), Suzanne, (keyboard), and Robert, (alto saxophone). Mothers Day Preparation and BBQ, a Friends and Family Special Event

Tomorrow, Saturday March 30th, we are having a special morning fun event in preparation for our Mothering Sunday Service the following day. The event runs from 10.00 till 12.00 tomorrow in St Mary's church and will involve the making of the Posies which each Mum receives at the service, other craft fun, tea, coffee and Bacon Butties* cooked on the BBQ. Above all, FUN is the order of the morning. If you are a regular at our Friends and Family service you will know what we get up to, but if you haven't been before, why not come along on Saturday morning for a couple of hours and join in the fun? And of course on Sunday, there is our special service for all Mothers and each Mum will be presente

St Mary's Church Annual Meeting

Last Sunday, the morning service of Holy Communion with Prayers for Healing, was conducted by the Rector, the Rev Gill Smith. Following the service, St Mary’s APCM annual meeting, was held in church. The Churchwardens, Hazel Różańska and Wendy Chappell were re-elected to serve another year. The Rev Gill then gave more details about her forthcoming retirement in the summer and explained why they are bound by Church regulations to leave the area. Gill and husband, Bob, will be greatly missed by both Congregation and Potton Townsfolk as they have been involved in many community activities since coming to Potton about 10 years ago. On Friday at 8.15am, tune into BigglesFM at 104.8 on the dial, to hear our Rector, the Rev Gill Smith, give her “Thought For the Day” Next Sunday, the morning service is Holy Communion with Prayers for Healing, with the Rev Gill Smith. A final reminder that St Mary’s APCM annual meeting, will be held this Sunday, in church following the morning service. All members are cordially invited. The next few days at St Mary's Church

Next Sunday, the service will be the shorter format Holy Communion with the children’s Treasure Boxes as usual and will be conducted by our Associate Priest, the Rev Barbara Johnson, who is also Chaplain to the PTSD999 Blue Hero Foundation. It will be good to see Rev Barbara back with us alter a period of illness and we wish her well. She will be assisted in the Service by RDR Simon Gutteridge.
