The morning service, conducted by the Rev Gill and assisted by our two Churchwardens, was a Choral Holy Communion and by special request of the Rev Gill, during Communion, the choir sang two anthems, “God so Loved the World” from Stainer’s “Crucifiction” and Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus”. Rev Gill Smith has a Birthday today
Today, February 24, was the Rev Gill's Birthday, a happy day for her and a presentation at the end of the Morning Service with the usual singing of Happy Birthday of course. But this will be the last birthday that Gill will spend with us, as she will be retiring later this year, probably in August. St Albans Diocese's 'Living Churchyards Day' wins National Lottery support and is coming
St Albans Diocese has received a National Lottery grant of £7,500 for an exciting heritage project which will spread good practice in managing churchyards for the benefit of wildlife and people. A one day event, made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, will be held in Potton, Bedfordshire, on Saturday July 13th 2019 to draw people from churches and communities across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. Annual Parochial Church Meeting and Electoral Registration Forms
St Mary’s APCM annual meeting, will be held on March 24 in church following the morning service. All members are cordially invited. Prior to the meeting, all those registered on St Mary’s Church Electoral Roll, should re-register to be able to vote. This weekend
Today Today, February 9, we will be holding a Chinese New Year Dinner for the Year of the Pig. This will be an evening dinner in the church hall, 7pm for 7.30pm start, with Chinese dishes cooked by our culinary experts, and with some Chinese traditions introduced during the evening.
