Last Sunday, and the Rest of the Week in our Church, and Benefice Services

The service last Sunday was something special for two members of the congregation. Roslyn and David Tall were celebrating their Golden Wedding over the weekend so our Associate Priest, the Rev Barbara Johnson who was conducting the service of Holy Communion, incorporated into the service, the Renewal of Vows for Roslyn and David. This part of the service was given by our former Rector, the Rev Gill Smith who was invited to carry out the renewal by the happy couple, and it was both a moving but happy time for Ros and David. Following the service, members of the congregation were invited to a celebration party in the church hall. Next Sunday, the morning service is Holy Communion, with a visit

Katherine Sulch

It is with great sadness that we have heard this week of the passing on August 4th of a former prolific Church Member, Katherine Sulch at the age of 68. Katherine and Husband Richard, retired and moved away to Dawlish in October 2011 where Katherine soon became part of her new community. Whilst a member of St Mary's Church, Katherine had been a long serving member of the choir and the Mother's Union and was often to be found busy in the kitchen when we had any sort of "Do" going on! Locally, she held a high position in the Girl Guides and spent much time working with them at many events. Katherine had two children, Clare and David and as a congregation, we saw them grow from young children t

As a proud Dad, I hope no-one minds me putting this report on here about Paula's achievements at the British Transplant Games, held in Newport (Sandra's home town as it happens!) I have sent this story to the Chronicle but I cannot predict if they will use it or not, so here it is in full: Last weekend, the British Transplant Games were held at Newport in Gwent, an event where Transplant Patients from all corners of the United Kingdom and Ireland met both competitively and socially over a four day period in what turned out to be ideal weather conditions.
