Where has the Summer gone?

An unusual view of St Mary's after the rain.

The service of Holy Communion last Sunday morning was very well attended. It would seem that as the latest Covid regulations are applied and vaccination levels continue to rise, people are becoming more confident about meeting in public places, in our case, our church as our attendance this week was certainly higher than previous weeks. As usual, the service was led by the Rector, the Rev Alex Wheatley who told us that we had had a snap check on our Covid precautions from Central Beds Council, and they were very happy with the way we were applying the current regulations. The 10.30am service of Holy Communion next Sunday, June 27th will also be led by the Rev Alex.

Our recent Murder Mystery Trail which many people entered, was won by Roger Chamberlain whose name was drawn from all the correct entries. The prize was a £10 voucher for the Elephant & Feather. Well done Roger on great detecting!! Thank you to everyone who entered the prize draw, the response was fantastic. We have plenty of summer ahead, so we will be looking at opening another prize draw for those who missed this one and for those who still wish to follow the trail! Booklets, at £3 each, are still available from Tysoe’s store and the Elephant & Feather. We will be closing this second prize draw at the end of September. Many thanks again to all who have so far enjoyed the trail.
