Services, a Quiz Night and other events.

Sunday’s morning service of Holy Communion last weekend was conducted by the Rector, the Rev Alex Wheatley. During the service, the Rev Alex announced that as from next Sunday, the Church Choir would return and would lead the congregation in singing hymns and also sing once more from their repertoire of anthems. This announcement was greeted with a round of applause as we have had little music since the first lockdown last year so it will be good to hear our own music back in our church in place of the recorded music we have been relying on. Next Sunday, the morning service will again be Holy Communion with the Rev Alex.

September 17th is the new start date for our First Steps baby and toddler group. It is held in St Mary’s church hall opposite the church and starts at 9.30am. In the evening at 7.30pm, also in the church hall, the Craft and Chatter group will be holding their next get together for anyone who has a craft based hobby and this will give them a chance to meet up with like minded people to chatter about it! Entry is £3 which includes refreshments.

On September 24th , don’t forget to listen to the Biggles FM Breakfast Show on Friday morning, at 8.15am as Nick Wilson, St Mary’s Church Organist, will once more be the speaker giving his fortnightly Thought for the Day and news of all events and services coming up at St Mary’s or elsewhere in the Benefice.
