New System gives St Mary's Church a different Sound!
Part of the new Control Panel
The Morning Service of Holy Communion last Sunday had something to celebrate apart from the usual elements of our weekly service. The service was led by the Rev Alex Wheatley and the look on his face as he spoke his first words was something to behold! For the first time we were using our new sound system and we had the microphone worn by Rev Alex perhaps turned up a little too much as he certainly came across very loud and very clear, better than we had ever heard him! The system is brand new and we are not quite used to the new sound desk to get the levels right and needed some quick adjustment but it was accepted as being a success and a round of applause followed. We have quite a bit to learn yet but so far the new system is quite a big improvement to the old one. The service next Sunday, June 20th, will again be Holy Communion with the Rev Alex, hopefully with the controls set to a more acceptable level!
We are hoping of course that the Prime Minister soon lifts the Covid control measures so that our services can get back to normal, with the church choir leading the singing. But, at the time of writing, this still looks a little uncertain. It would be good to see more of our congregation return on a Sunday morning as we feel some are staying away because of the restrictions. We pray that soon, that day of normality will return however, a warm welcome awaits anyone who would like to join us at 10.30am, on any Sunday morning, even with things as they are now.
