Good News for the coming weeks

Sunday’s Morning Service in St Mary’s Church was very well attended, possibly because many were back from their holidays but we had a guest speaker with us who we were all interested to listen to. The service of Holy Communion was as usual conducted by the Rector, the Rev Alex Wheatley but the guest speaker was the Rev Jill Wheatley, Rev Alex’s Mother. The Rev Jill spoke of her work as the Chaplain at Hollins Park Hospital in Warrington and her involvement with mental illness and the treatment of it. She is also a member of the local Clergy Team in the area. Her talk was very interesting and it was obvious she was really involved in her work and really loves it and the contribution she makes to it. We thank the Rev Jill for visiting us and giving such an interesting talk

The service at St Mary’s next Sunday, is the Service of the Word with Rdr Simon Gutteridge. All being well, the popular Friends and Family service will return on the first Sunday in October. There will be more information about this nearer the time.
