Almost into Lent

As my week went on, things did get better but I never did like being poked about by a skilled surgeon, but now as I write and it’s Sunday afternoon, I’m beginning to think it will be worth it, like everyone has been telling me!

I didn’t make the morning service today and I don’t think I would have made it up the slope and into the church anyway, so I missed the Rev Alex Wheatley’s service of Holy Communion. Next Sunday, the Rev Alex will be back so I won’t miss that service!

Next week we have our usual group meetings on Friday, First Steps at 9.30am in the church hall, and there is no half term break. Apparently, last Friday it was one of the best attendances ever so well done to Sandy and her team for making it the place to be, on a Friday morning. Craft and Chatter numbers have also increased in the evenings that they meet. All details about these two groups can be found on Facebook of course, and on our weekly Sunday Link newsletter.

Finally, Nick Wilson, St Mary's Church organist, will present his popular "Thought for the Day" on Friday February 25th, Alan’s Breakfast Show on BigglesFM, 104.8Mhz on the dial. Don't forget to tune in! Also on this day, at 12.45pm, we see the return of the Potton Parish Lunch, our major fundraiser for many years in aid of the St John’s Hospice at Moggerhanger. Two courses, choose from the menu of home cooked food, tea/coffee for £8, and a raffle!
