More on the New Service pattern
Digital Sketch by Kegan Hearn
The new pattern of service started today with Service of the Word conducted by LLW Hazel via our Zoom set up. This will be the last Zoom service this month, the next one is on September 6th at 10.30am. All other services will now follow the pattern shown on yesterdays notice. This week's service had 25 connections with 30 people taking part. the Thought for Day was by the Rev Judi Clarke and was given by LLW Hazel.
After the service, a good discussion took place to discuss ideas for fundraising on behalf of St John's hospice at Moggerhanger. Our normal efforts this year have been thwarted by the Coronavirus pandemic, and our main event, the monthly Parish Lunch, has not been able to take place since January. A Grand Draw has been organised with the first prize of £400 already donated towards this. Tickets are on sale around town and probably frequently on a Saturday on the Market Square, look out for them and the book stall they are also running. More details about this next week.
The church office can now receive requests for weddings and baptisms but possibly not funerals at this time. Please call the office with any enquiries you may have. Church Hall bookings may be available soon but enquiries for this can be made to 01767 260430.
With restrictions on us getting less by the day it seems, but with problems recurring in Spain and areas of the North of England, care must still be taken, don't take chances, the pandemic is not over yet. Stay safe!
