For the fourth Sunday of Easter, St Mary’s Church again had a “Virtual Service” led by Reader Simon Gutteridge, a get together, from our homes using the ever popular ZOOM. This week we had 19 connections and 30 people taking part. It was good to see some new faces this week including some members, Derek and Fay, who had moved away from the area but who had heard about our service and looked us up As usual, hymn singing, readings and prayers all had their place in the service and this week, we had a mini sermon sent to us by our Associate Priest, the Rev Barbara Johnson and read by Simon. Next week there will be another morning service by ZOOM led by Simon. It is hoped that the service for May 31st, will be aimed at the younger members of the church with activities which can done live. The format is still being worked out so more detail will follow. Any member of St Mary’s who is not on the Sunday Link mailing list and wishes to be able receive joining instructions and join in these services, should contact the church office at email@example.com. Please note there is no telephone service at this time.
On the evening of May 3rd, our monthly NightLIGHT service led by Sarah took place also via ZOOM. There were 17 connections with 23 people taking part in this lovely little service of music, prayers, readings and quiet moments for reflection.

We continue to pray for an improvement in getting this nasty Covid-19 virus under control but please follow the Governments instructions to avoid unnecessary contact with others. We also pray for those who are ill with this virus and hope they will fully recover and for any NHS staff from our local area and farther afield, that they remain safe and well.
