Virtual Services are becoming the norm, at the moment!!

For the third Sunday of Easter, St Mary’s Church again had a “Virtual Service” led by Reader Simon Gutteridge, a get together, from our homes using a meeting application called ZOOM. This week our service was joined by more people and we had 21 connections and 33 people taking part. Bishop Richard of Bedford joined us towards the end of the service and gave all taking part a Blessing and said a few more words of encouragement. As usual, hymn singing, readings and prayers all had their place in the service but there was no sermon this week, instead we had a reading from Rosemary. Next week there will be another morning service by ZOOM and in the evening our monthly NightLIGHT service led by Sarah will also take place via this means. Details on how to join will be sent to participants for both services. Any member of St Mary’s who is not on the Sunday Link mailing list and wishes to be able receive joining instructions and join in these services, should contact the church office at benefice.com@gmail.com . Please note there is no telephone service at this time.

On May 8th, St Mary’s Church Organist, Nick Wilson will next give his “Thought for the Day” on BigglesFM, 104.8 on the dial. Nick will be calling in by phone with all the latest church news.

We continue to pray for an improvement in getting this nasty Covid-19 virus under control but please follow the Governments instructions to avoid unnecessary contact with others. We also pray for those who are ill with this virus and hope they will fully recover and for any NHS staff from our local area and farther afield, that they remain safe and well.
