The Morning Service last Sunday was the shorter format Holy Communion, and was conducted by another of our retired priest team, the Rev Margaret Marshall. The Rev Margaret was a friend of our former Rector, the Rev Gill Smith and they trained together before becoming Priests.
Next Sunday, January 26th, it is St Mary’s Patronal Festival service when we celebrate the life of our Patron Saint, St Mary. The service will conducted by the Rev Canon Lindsay Dew, our former Rural Dean, now retired. There will be no other services in the Benefice that day except for Morning Prayer at St Mary’s, at 9am.
Our First Steps toddler and baby group will be meeting on Friday in the church hall at the usual time of 9.30am. Further details about the group from group leader Sandy, on 01767 260430. Morning Prayer services will be held next week, on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, both services at 9am. These services maybe cancelled at short notice if no leader is available. Every Friday afternoon at 2.45pm, a service is held at Sutton Church for all those in the Benefice who want to end the week with quiet prayer and communion with others. All are welcome.
St Mary’s Events Team, are holding a Burn’s Night Supper and celebration on Saturday, January 25th. This will be an evening of traditional Scottish food and hopefully, some of the ceremony that takes place! Tickets are £20 which includes a drink on arrival and the doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Please book tickets by calling 01767 261206, there are not too many left!

On Friday, January 31st at 12.45pm, in St Mary’s Hall, the St John’s Hospice Moggerhanger, Potton Support Group, sponsored by St Mary’s Church, are holding their monthly Parish Lunch. This month we will present the Hospice with the proceeds of the lunches held in 2019. We have table vacancies if anyone would like to join us. A two course meal and a hot drink costs just £7. No need to book!!
