The coming days in our Benefice

Next Sunday, the service at St Mary’s will be our very popular Friends and Family activity service with Wendy and her team, and Morning Prayer will be celebrated by those who enjoy this short service, within a service. The theme this month is “Forgiveness and a Change of Heart” All are very welcome.

Having just celebrated All Saints Day, next Sunday, November 3rd is All Souls Day and St Mary’s will be holding a special All Souls Day service at 3pm led by Rdr Simon Gutteridge. To have Loved Ones remembered at this service and to celebrate the lives of Family and Friends who have passed on, please enter their names on the remembrance lists in church for them to be remembered during the service and light a candle in their memory. All are very welcome. The monthly NightLight service will be at 7’30pm as usual.

First Steps meeting and Morning Prayer meetings will follow the usual pattern this week with full details on the website Sunday Link page.

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 2nd we have our annual Bonfire and Firework celebration evening on the Church Field, The gates open at 6pm and there will be a barbecue on the field and hot and cold snacks and drinks available in the hall at very reasonable cost. We hope the weather will be good, we are usually lucky, but if it should be wet, the day will be postponed and rescheduled as soon after as possible. Entry is £6 for adults and over 16s, £1 for under 16s and free for 5 and under. No unaccompanied children admitted and sparklers and dogs should not be brought onto the site. Enjoy the evening!

Advance notice for next Friday, November 8th, The 2Gs, members of our church Music Group, will be holding an evening of song and music which we hope the audience will join in with. It will be a fun evening of sing-along for all to enjoy. More next week or see posters around town.
