This Week in the Benefice

On Friday October 25th, we welcome our church organist, Nick Wilson for the second time this month, to the local airwaves as he is giving his “Thought for the Day” at 8.15am on BigglesFM, 104.8 on the dial. Nick has some great stories and anecdotes and is well worth listening to! In the absence of a Parish Priest at this time, Nick has agreed with BigglesFM, to give a fortnightly talk to help everyone keep in touch with events at the church until such time as a new Rector is appointed and hopefully takes to the airwaves!

Last Sunday for the Morning Service, our former Rural Dean, the Rev Canon Lyndsay Dew led the shorter format service of Holy Communion with the aid of the Children and their Treasure Boxes.

Next Sunday, there will be no 10.30am service at St Mary’s in fact the only service in the Benefice on that day will be a Benefice Service of Holy Communion at All Saints Church, Sutton, to celebrate their Patronal Festival. The service will be led by one of our visiting Clergy, the Rev Gillian Orpin. All members of the three Benefice churches are cordially invited to this service.

Our First Steps toddler and baby group will be meeting on Friday, in the church hall at the usual time of 9.30am. Further details about the group from Sandy on 01767 260430. Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. These services maybe cancelled at short notice if no leader is available. Every Friday afternoon at 2.45pm, a service is held at Sutton Church for all those in the Benefice who want to end the week with quiet prayer and communion with others. All are welcome.
