The coming week in the Benefice

October 6, 2019

On Friday, we welcome our church organist, Nick Wilson to the local airwaves as he is giving his “Thought for the Day” at 8.15am on BigglesFM, 104.8 on the dial. Nick has some great stories and anecdotes and is well worth listening to!

Next Sunday morning there will be a Traditional Harvest Service at St Mary's with Holy Communion and everyone is welcome to join us for this one and perhaps make a small donation of produce that we can later distribute. At 6.30pm that evening, we are once again holding our “Little Stars Service” an evening of Support and Remembrance to  commemorate the loss of a baby or young child and allows those who have lost a young one to share their feelings with others. This is a lovely service, part of the National Baby Loss Week, organised by people who themselves have suffered a loss and all who have had this happen are very welcome to join us and maybe stay and have a chat after the service whilst enjopying some refreshments. See posters around town for full details or contact Fi on 07771 755508 or Paula on 07484 699596.

Our First Steps toddler and baby group will be meeting on Friday, in the church hall at the usual time of 9.30am. Further details about the group from Sandy on 01767 260430. Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at  Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. These services maybe cancelled at short notice if no leader is available. Every Friday afternoon at 2.45pm, a service is held at Sutton Church for all those in the Benefice who want to end the week with quiet prayer and communion with others. All are welcome.
