The week at St Mary's and the Benefice

Last Sunday, the Morning Service of Holy Communion with Holy Baptism, was conducted by the Rev Canon Lyndsay Dew, former Vicar of Dunton and Biggleswade area Rural Dean. The Baptism of Baby Hugo was preceded by a short sermon which cleverly led into the Baptism and the Rev Lindsay invited the whole of the congregation to join the family around the font to be a part of the service to welcome Hugo into the Church. It was a lovely service all round and perhaps a slightly different approach with the total integration of the Baptism into the Holy Communion service in a manner which was enjoyed by all present. Next Sunday, it is our popular Friends and Family intergenerational activity service, this month with a Harvest theme. All are very welcome to join us for this service with a difference. In the evening at 7.30pm, it is the October NightLight service of prayer, music and quiet reflection, led by Sarah and Heather.

Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. These services maybe cancelled at short notice if no leader is available. Every Friday afternoon at 2.45pm, a service is held at Sutton Church for all those in the Benefice who want to end the week with quiet prayer and communion with others. All are welcome. Our First Steps toddler and baby group will as usual, in the church hall at the usual time of 9.30am. Further details about the group from Sandy on 01767 260430.
