This week in our Church

The Sunday Morning service last week was Songs of Praise, a selection of favourite hymns, mostly chosen by the Rev Gill Smith before she moved away into retirement recently. Rdr Simon Gutteridge was leading the service which also included a reading and prayers. Next Sunday, we have a visiting Priest, the Rev Norman Young who will conduct a Choral Holy Communion service which will also include the Holy Baptism of Darcey.

On Friday at 8.15am, Church Organist Nick Wilson will be giving his Thought for the Day on BigglesFM, 104.8 on the dial.

Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. These services maybe cancelled at short notice if no leader is available. Our First Steps toddler and baby group meet today as usual in the church hall at 9.30am on Friday. Please note: the Group no longer break during the school holidays as was done in the past. Details from Sandy on 01767 260430.

We are very pleased to report that St Mary’s member, Paula Evetts, recently took part in the British Transplant Games in Newport as part of the Royal Papworth Hospital team, and won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in three different events. Even Paula was surprised at this result but St Mary’s members and friends would like to congratulate her with her success. Paula had a successful heart transplant 3.5 years ago at the old Papworth Hospital.

Please note: The church office can now be contacted on 01767 261202, please leave a message stating the reason for your enquiry if necessary and you will be contacted.
