This week at St Mary's Church, Potton

The Sunday service last weekend was the Patronal Festival for St John the Baptist at Cockayne Hatley Church. All other churches in the Benefice came to St John’s Church to help celebrate the day and the service was led by the Rev Gill Smith with the help of St Mary’s Church Choir. After the service a sumptuous selection of home made cakes were served with the tea or coffee.The morning service at St Mary’s next Sunday is Holy Communion led by the Rev Gill Smith.

Morning Prayer services will be held next week, at Sutton Church on Thursday, and on Tuesday and Friday at St Mary’s, all services at 9am. Our First Steps toddler and baby group meet today as usual in the church hall at 9.30am. Further details about the Group can be obtained from Group Organiser, Sandy, on 01767 260430.

All this coming weekend, June 29/30, Sutton Church are holding their Annual Flower Festival from 10.30am to 5.30pm both days. This is a flower festival not to be missed as they always have many intricate designs based on their theme. Also on Sunday the 30th, at 3pm, they will be holding their famous Duck Race, on the river of course near the Packhorse Bridge. Buy a ticket at the flower festival, and win a good prize for the first duck over the finish line!
