Farewell to Janet

The Morning Service last Sunday, was Holy Communion but with anointing for personal renewal. The service was led by the Rector, the Rev Gill Smith and during the service, we said a very fond farewell to Janet Baillie who is leaving us to live near her daughter in Northumberland. Janet has been a leading light in our Lay Ministry Team, becoming a Lay Leader of Worship (LLW) and taking many smaller services or assisting the Rector during the morning service. Janet was also the LLW who devised and organised the All Souls Service over the last few years, making it a great success for many people in the Town, giving them a chance to remember their lost family and friends. Janet will be sorely missed by us all but she will take with her a beautiful Rose to plant in her new garden to remember her friends from St Mary’s.
