Earlier in the week, our Mission “Half Way There” commenced with a series of events every day, led by our Mission Team and Bishop Richard of Bedford. The purpose of the mission was to help people decide if they were sure about being a Christion, or maybe just half way there but needing a little help making that final decision. Many of the events were to show how Christianity works as well as being enjoyable and entertaining. The penultimate event of the mission was a Harvest Dinner on Saturday evening. This Week in our Church

The morning service last Sunday was the Shorter Holy Communion with the Children’s Treasure Boxes. The content of the boxes is to help young children understand the various elements in the Communion service, by finding a clue in the service sheet and then find the matching item in the box. All these items match a part of the service thereby helping the youngsters to understand how to follow the full service. Next Sunday is a very special day when the morning service will be Holy Communion but will include the Confirmation of 25 candidates by Bishop Richard of Bedford. This will be the final day of the Benefice Mission “Half Way There” which is being led by the Bishop. The Mission starts on

The Old Website

The old website will now be closed as from the end of this month. There has been no more queries as there was in the first few days so I can only assume that everyone has settled in to the new site and are happy with it. This means that I will now get my Sundays back after 10 years so I shall have to find something else to do. I will still be writing the Chronicle column and it will appear on the News Blog in a slightly modified form but still headed This Week in Our Church. It will also be on Facebook and I shall continue to maintain that. So what shall I do with this interim site, well I have a plan which I hope everyone will like, so watch this space! The old site will not be further up

Judith Barker

I said a few days ago that Judith, our Organist for many years, had finally gone to sleep and passed away on Tuesday morning. She had a relatively short battle against a serious illness and its hard for us to believe that only a few weeks ago, she was still playing the organ at all our services. Her funeral will be at St Mary’s Church, Potton on Tuesday October 30th at 2pm. We hope many Potton Parishioners and Friends will be able to attend. RIP Dear Judith, now in Heaven, with her David once more, almost exactly a year after his passing when he lost his battle against illness.
