Saturday 3rd November 2018 Join us for our annual St Mary's Church "Bonfire and Fireworks" night. Being held at the St Mary's Hall field, Potton. As always, there will be a BBQ on the field and hot/cold refreshments available in the hall. Our Annual Bonfire and Firework Evening
Saturday November 3 is the date for this year’s Bonfire and Firework evening. The doors of the church hall open at 6pm and entry charge is £6 adults, £1 children under 16 or free to children under 5. Hot and cold refreshments are available in the hall or at the BBQ on the field. The bonfire will be lit from 6.30pm and the firework display will commence at 7.15pm. The week to come, at St Mary's
The service next Sunday is our popular Friends and Family activity service for all ages. This involves not only traditional worship, but craft projects suitable for everyone to try. Please come and see for yourself, you’ll be very welcome. In the afternoon at 3pm, it is this year’s All Souls Service. Our "Half Way There" Mission Week
What an absolutely amazing week we have just had at St Mary’s! Earlier in the week, our Mission “Half Way There” commenced with a series of events every day, led by our Mission Team and Bishop Richard of Bedford. The purpose of the mission was to help people decide if they were sure about being a Christion, or maybe just half way there but needing a little help making that final decision. Enjoy an autumn walk inside and outside our wonderful church of St Mary's in Potton. Find out about the history of the buildings, as well as the secrets of the graveyard. Suitable for all the family. On Friday October 26, at 12.45pm, it is the monthly Parish Lunch in aid of St John’s Hospice at Moggerhanger. Please note, there are now places available at the lunches so if you haven’t been before, why not try one of our delicious home made meals with a choice of 5 or 6 dishes plus a variety of desserts to follow. This Week in our Church
The morning service last Sunday was the Shorter Holy Communion with the Children’s Treasure Boxes. The content of the boxes is to help young children understand the various elements in the Communion service, by finding a clue in the service sheet and then find the matching item in the box. All these items match a part of the service thereby helping the youngsters to understand how to follow the full service. Next Sunday is a very special day when the morning service will be H

The Old Website
The old website will now be closed as from the end of this month. There has been no more queries as there was in the first few days so I can only assume that everyone has settled in to the new site and are happy with it. This means that I will now get my Sundays back after 10 years so I shall have to find something else to do. I will still be writing the Chronicle column and it will appear on the News Blog in a slightly modified form but still headed This Week in Our Church.
