St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger

St Mary’s Church, Potton, is proud to support the work of  St John’s Care Hospice at Moggerhanger by allowing a monthly Parish Lunch to be held in the Church Hall free of charge to the lunch organisers. This is usually at 12-45pm on the last Friday of each month  and raises, on average, £3000 a year for the Hospice by providing a range of delicious Home Cooked Lunches to about 60 people, all for a very modest charge.

The presentation for 2011 was made at the January Lunch where Lunch Organiser Eileen Tomlinson presented St John’s Hospice Fund raising Managers, Paula Priestley and Paresh Nar with a cheque for £3300. Paula thanked all present for their efforts during the year and went on to explain with the aid of a Power Point presentation, how much it costs to run St. Johns and what plans there are for fundraising and improving on facilities at the Hospice in the coming year. All monies raised are ploughed back into patient care and new facilities are always important.
