The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin

At St Mary’s Church we worship in a wide a range of  styles.

On the 1st Sunday in the Month at 8am we use the Book of Common Prayer 1662 Holy Communion service (said).

Music and singing and  is an important part of the worship tradition with us at St Mary’s

10-15am Holy Communion (Common Worship Order 1) on the
3rd Sunday in the Month is “Choral Communion” with our choir enhanced with the voices of a number of friends. The enhanced choir sings for half an hour before the service and you are encouraged to come early and allow the singing to lead you in to the worship. They also sing an anthem during the Giving of Communion. Please note: the Choral element of the Service is suspended until further notice


FAMILY SERVICE on the 2nd Sunday in the Month is an all age worship mixing formal and informal designed to include everyone.

NightLIGHT is a  monthly service
- the first Sunday in each month at 8pm  Who is it for? Anyone who would appreciate Christian worship in a contemporary style, anyone who finds Sunday morning worship difficult to get to, or just difficult to digest!

USUAL SUNDAY PATTERN
Every Sunday 8am Holy Communion
1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays 10-15am Sung Holy Communion
2nd Sunday: 10-15am Family Service with Holy Communion 11am (said)


Every Tuesday: 10am Holy Communion (half-hour service) This service is suspended until further notice

Every Friday:
2.15pm "First Steps" - a short Christian focused activity
for early years children and their mums, dads or other minders
6.45pm Holy Communion (half-hour service) This service is suspended until further notice


First Friday in every month: 10am Holy Communion at Jakes Court
