The Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin At St Mary’s Church we worship in a wide a range of styles. Sunday Morning Services are at 8-00am (said) and 10-15am (sung) every week. At every 10-15am Service, a play room for young children is provided. On the 1st Sunday in the Month at 8am we use the Book of Common Prayer 1662 Holy Communion service (said). Music and singing and is an important part of the worship tradition with us at St Mary’s FAMILY SERVICE on the 1st Sunday in the Month at 10-15am is an all age worship mixing formal and informal designed to include everyone. 2nd Sunday in the Month is “Choral Communion”10-15am Choral Communion (Common Worship Order 1). A full sung service of Holy Communion with traditional hymns and anthems sung by our wonderful choir under the leadership of our husband and wife choirmaster and organist, David and Judith Barker. 3rd Sunday of the Month at 10-15 is “St Mary’s Shorter Communion Service”: a simpler, guided service of Holy Communion lasting less than an hour. It may be particularly helpful to those new to church or unsure of church practices and traditions. A supervised crèche is available at this service. 4th Sunday of the Month 10-15am Holy Communion with prayers for Healing (Common Worship Order 1) 5th Sunday of the Month (where applicable)10-15am All Age Holy Communion (Common Worship Order 1) Evenings and Weekdays NightLIGHT is a monthly service - the second Sunday in each month at 8pm Who is it for? Anyone who would appreciate Christian worship in a contemporary style, anyone who finds Sunday morning worship difficult to get to, or just difficult to digest! A short group activity for early years children with their mums, dads or carers. Activities include singing, stories, action, making things and sharing followed by refreshments.
