The Benefice of

Sue Ryder Care

St Mary’s Church, Potton, is proud to support the work of  St John’s Care Hospice at Moggerhanger by allowing a monthly Parish Lunch to be held in the Church Hall free of charge to the lunch organisers. This is usually at 12-45 on the last Friday of each month  and raises, on average, £4500 a year for the Hospice by providing a range of delicious Home Cooked Lunches to about 60 people, all for a very modest charge.

If you haven’t been to one of these lunches and want to know more about it or would like to help, please contact   Dave Thompson.

Next Parish Lunch: March 31 2017. The Presentation to St John’s Hospice was at the 27 January 2017 lunch, with the proceeds from the 2016 lunches. A record sum of £4,600 was handed over this year!

Church Roof Repair - Just Giving

The roof security has now been up graded and paid for by donations from individuals and some grant money. However, we have decided to keep a Just Giving appeal open for donations to help the work of our church. Donate to St Mary’s Church Potton  If giving, please be sure to check the Gift Aid box if you are a tax payer.

The roof has still not been repaired but we now have the “Go-Ahead” and the date agreed with our contractor is for the middle of May onwards. It is expected the work will take up to two months. In the meantime, we have moved the Church Choir out of the Chancel because of continuous water ingress.
